Hello,

a bit about me:

I was born in Sumter, SC, and I was raised in a close-knit, caring family. I was always taught by my family to pursue my dreams and work hard to make them a reality. I have a brother who is nearly 9 years younger than me, so from an early age I learned how much my own words and actions could influence and encourage the development of a young person.

I have always had a tremendous passion for learning. As a child, I amused my parents by asking them innumerable how's and why's, and I was always excited to learn a new concept in school and do projects with my classmates. It was my pursuit of knowledge that motivated me to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree with collaterals in Chemistry and Literary English. The strength of my background in science and English helps me to be more flexible in how I approach teaching and how I interconnect different disciplines in order to give students more inclusive and immersive learning experiences. I am currently a student at Francis Marion University, working on a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree, which continues to push me and expand vital skills and strategies for teaching children as unique and creative individuals.

My great interest in learning and working with others toward common goals is what has inspired me to be an elementary school teacher. A desire for personal growth and facilitating the growth and development of young learners is what draws me to the area of education. I know that in education I can continue to express my passion for life-long learning and help children cultivate their own talents and skills to forge a brighter future!
